Fiona Apple Postpones Tour for Dying Dog
Fiona Apple is putting her tour on hold in the name of her dog. In a message posted on Facebook Wednesday, the singer said her dog Janet, a pit bull once used in a dog fighting ring that she found as a puppy in Los Angeles’ Echo Park , is dying. Janet suffers from Addison’s disease and has a tumor in her chest. “I just can’t leave her now, please understand,” Apple wrote in the post, which was accompanied by photos of a handwritten note she penned before typing out her message on Facebook. “If I go away again, I’m afraid she’ll die and I won’t have the honor of singing her to sleep, of escorting her out. ” Apple recently wrapped the North American leg of her tour for her latest album, “The Idler Wheel. ” She was due to perform in Brazil next week, then travel to Argentina and Mexico.
